This course gives knowledge about hazards, precautions and personal protective equipment needed for safe operation in enclosed spaces. The course can be done onboard or at the office, and the course consists of one e-learning module and onscreen assessment.

SOLAS Chapter III, regulation 19 states: “Crew members with enclosed space entry or rescue responsibilities shall participate in an enclosed space entry and rescue drill to be held on board the ship at least once every two months.” This course raises awareness of enclosed spaces in support of other drills and training in this subject.

Learning Objectives

The objective of this distance course is to give the trainee awareness of hazards likely to be faced during entry into enclosed spaces, precautions that need to be taken before entry to an enclosed space, and personal protective equipment required for entry to an enclosed space.
