Seagull has developed a type specific ECDIS distance course for TECDIS, SW version 4.8.3.1 and above, together with the manufacturer Telko AS. The course will enable the learner to become familiar with the features on the latest version, 4.8.3.1 and above, of the TECDIS.
This course comprises eLearning modules with a final onscreen assessment. You must achieve 95% completion in all eLearning and score 75% or higher in all assessments. Our course documentation list refers.
Guided learning hours: 3-6hrs.
On completion of this course you will receive a Course diploma.
Important: Please note that in order for the course to be approved the training has to be carried out in a controlled environment (on board or in a company office). All submitted pages must be signed by the master/onboard assessor or by an office assessor in order to verify this. Please note that all course contestans must be a holder of a generic ECDIS course diploma.

- Identify the functions of the TECDIS
- Identify the settings on a chart display
- State the meaning of common alerts
- Identify route planning methods
- Identify route monitoring methods
- Recognise a backup TECDIS arrangement
- State the process of managing charts and licenses
- State how failure diagnosis can be performed
- Identify maintenance requirements
